View all ratingsGeneral Surgery94 Old Short Hills Rd Ste 1172Livingston, NJ 0703915 miles awayCare PhilosophyI am a general surgeon, specializing in advanced procedures that employ minimally invasive approaches. I enjoy the goal-oriented nature of surgery, the teamwork that it involves, and the gratification that comes with seeing a surgical patient do well as a result of my technical skills. Surgery is often a last resort for many conditions, and patients can be anxious and have many questions prior to undergoing procedures. I value and respect the relationships I can develop with patients and their families, and find fulfillment in the trust patients place in me at an otherwise difficult point in their lives. I bring this philosophy to my practice to ensure a smooth and comfortable process for patients. I have a particular interest in robotic surgery, and believe that such a minimally invasive approach translates into superior outcomes for patients with respect to postoperative pain, recovery, and function. He has performed innervation of DIEP flaps since 2011 and was an early adaptor in the use of nerve grafts in breast reconstruction. He has also pioneered the drainless approach to breast implant-based breast reconstruction as he recognized external drains to be one of the greatest concerns for our patients. He is a requested speaker at both national and international meetings on these and other topics and has an active laboratory which has published over 100 papers on these and other subjects. He has been awarded several grants for his research including from the NIH and has won awards both nationally and internationally, at many of the major plastic surgery meetings.Dr. Otterburn completed board certification in both Plastic and General Surgery. He also performs soft tissue reconstruction with osteointegrated implant reconstruction for amputees and targeted muscle reinnervation and regenerative peripheral nerve interfaces to decrease nerve pain. His surgical expertise also includes oculoplastic reconstruction and reconstruction following Mohs surgery.Dr. Otterburn offers his patients aesthetic surgery of the face and body. This included botox, fillers and more invasive surgeries such as face lifts, neck lifts and blepharoplasties. He performs body contouring including liposuction, abdominoplasties, circumferential body lifts, thigh lifts, breast augmentations and breast lifts. His aesthetic goals are tailored to the individual patient, but is looking to provide you with a natural, seamless aesthetic result.
