When I joined Lowcountry OB/GYN, I had over 20 years of experience in the field. \n After completing my residency at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia, I served in the U.S. Navy on active duty for a decade and retired as a lieutenant commander. I have enjoyed practicing obstetrics and gynecology in the Charleston, South Carolina, area for more than 19 years. \n I'm honored to be part of my patients' healthcare journey and especially enjoy adolescent gynecology, menopause management, weight management and preventive healthcare. \n When not busy with my practice, I'm probably doing something outdoors, traveling or at a concert. My husband and I have two sons and a menagerie of animals.

Soon after beginning my medical career as a general surgeon in Beaufort, I discovered a passion for helping patients regain their lives through weight-loss surgery. \n I'm certified to perform bariatric surgeries through the da Vinci robotic platform. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my love of the outdoors with others and have become known for hosting kayaking trips out of Shem Creek for my patients and their families. I am a board-certified OB/GYN with more than 30 years of experience serving women in Charleston, South Carolina. As a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 1998 and a Certified Menopause Practitioner since 2019, my clinical focus has evolved toward perimenopause, menopause, and midlife women's health. \n Throughout my career, I have practiced full-scope obstetrics and gynecology, including low- and high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Over time, I recognized a meaningful gap in structured, evidence-based care for women navigating hormonal transition in midlife and menopause and I have intentionally focused my work in this space. I am an active member of The Menopause Society and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH). \n As a Charleston native and second-generation OBGYN physician working with my father for 10 years, I value relationship-centered medicine and the trust that develops through continuity of care. Listening carefully, educating clearly, and partnering with women in decision-making remain central to how I practice.
