biography: Dr. LaMar Mack is a board certified vascular surgeon. Dr. Mack has been with South Valley Vascular since 2013.  Dr. Mack is originally from Durham, North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s and Medical degrees from the University of North Carolina.  Dr. Mack completed his General Surgery training in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2011.  He completed his Vascular Surgery training in 2013 at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee.  Dr. Mack strongly believes in minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease, whenever appropriate.   Dr. Mack is an expert in vascular surgery with specific interest in:  Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Varicose Veins and Hemodialysis Access. Many patients come to see Dr. Mack with complaints of leg pain.  Leg pain may be due to varicose veins or peripheral artery disease (PAD).  Dr. Mack is an expert in treating both conditions, as well as in evaluating for non-vascular causes.  For patients with PAD, Dr. Mack recommends minimally invasive treatments whenever possible, including balloon angioplasty, laser atherectomy, orbital atherectomy, and stenting.  For patients with extensive arterial disease of the lower extremities, a surgical bypass (femoral-popliteal or femoral-tibial), may be the best treatment option to improve blood flow to the legs, and Dr. Mack is an expert in the procedure.  Dr. Mack also sees many patients with varicose veins, and most are treated with minimally invasive procedures, that have little down time and a fast recovery.  South Valley Vascular recommends RFA vein ablation and injection sclerotherapy for treatment of symptomatic and cosmetic veins. Both of these procedures can be done in the office setting with little down time and fast recovery. For patients with carotid artery disease, Dr. Mack recommends carotid endarterectomy in most cases.  However, studies have shown that some patients do better with carotid artery stenting, and Dr. Mack is an expert in the procedure. For abdominal aortic aneurysms, Dr. Mack uses multiple types of stent grafts, depending on what is best for the patient.  Endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms is the standard of care for most patients, and generally only requires an overnight stay in the hospital.   For patients who need open repair of their abdominal aortic aneurysm, Dr. Mack focuses on getting them through the surgery and recovery efficiently, so they can get back to their normal activities as quickly as possible. Dr. Mack is proud to be a doctor with South Valley Vascular, and is dedicated to excellence in patient care.  He looks forward to continuing to care for patients and building a regional vascular surgery practice, with the primary goal of improving patient care. Dr. Mack is married and has three children.  He and his wife Chevella and their family enjoy living in Visalia, and they are an active part of the community.    Dr. Mack’s interests include fitness training, and he is an avid football fan.  He is also an amateur chef and enjoys travel.

biography: Dr. Matthew Campbell is originally from Long Island, New York. He completed his Vascular Surgery training in 1997 at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  Dr. Campbell earned his Bachelor’s Degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook.  He received his Medical degree from Guadalajara University. Dr. Campbell completed his General Surgery Training at Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York in 1992.  He completed his Vascular Surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1998.  Dr. Campbell strongly believes that, in caring for the patient, the goal is to provide the best outcomes, and to use minimally invasive techniques and procedures whenever possible. He is board certified in Vascular Surgery and his interests include:  Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Varicose Veins and Hemodialysis Access. Dr. Campbell moved to Visalia to practice Vascular Surgery in 2005.  He was joined by Dr. Omar Araim in 2007.  In 2011, they became South Valley Vascular and formalized their partnership.  They were joined by Dr. Mack in 2013.  Dr. Campbell enjoys living in Visalia and taking care of patients in the Southern San Joaquin Valley.  Dr. Campbell is married and has two children, both in college.  His interests include flying, and he is an avid baseball fan.  He is also an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hiking and camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
