Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an antidepressant. As with all antidepressants, some physical symptoms of depression may improve within a week or two of starting it. But it can take up to two months to see the full effect of Cymbalta on depression. When Cymbalta is used for pain, it generally improves within two weeks.
