QUESTION & ANSWER
How do you get rid of HPV?
To get rid of genital warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, your doctor may recommend prescription topical products applied to the warts or office-based topical treatments. There are no medicines that get rid of HPV or cure the viral infection itself. Other procedures to treat the effects of HPV infection include:
Liquid nitrogen to "freeze" warts
Laser heat to burn warts
Curettage or scalpel to remove warts
Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) for warts and precancerous cells
According to the CDC, at least one out of every two sexually active people will have HPV at some point in their life.
