He earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. (Doctors of osteopathic medicine are fully-licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine and emphasize a whole-person approach to treatment and care.) He served a residency in the Department of Psychiatry at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport where he was chief resident.</p> <p>Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Broussard joined the Willis-Knighton Physician Network, offering outpatient services as well as inpatient services at the Behavioral Medicine Institute. He has also served as medical director of the partial hospitalization program at Physician Behavioral Hospital in Shreveport and as medical director of Northwest Supports and Services Center in Bossier City.</p> <p>Dr. Broussard is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and was named a Distinguished Fellow in 2015. He is a member of the Shreveport Medical Society and of the Louisiana State Medical Society and has served on the board of directors and has been a delegate at annual meetings. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.</p>
