Yonat Piva is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) who brings her own deepening self-awareness to her practice as a teacher and psychotherapist. Yonat holds a Master's degree in Somatic Psychotherapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and has professional training in music, massage, yoga, mindfulness meditation, CBT, DBT, expressive art and movement therapies. She specializes in treating people in recovery from eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and trauma. She has worked at a residential drug and alcohol treatment facility, public high schools, and in county agencies providing therapy for people suffering from chronic mental illness. Her intuition as a teacher and therapist is founded on training in the physiological aspects of trauma on the nervous system. She brings heartfelt empathy and a passionate, candid voice to nurture honest self-exploration in her clients. Listening to the voices and bodies of those around her, she invites a fullness and aliveness that may have been just under the surface. The central theme in Yonat's work is the understanding that the body is our most powerful ally to find grounding, presence, expression and wholeness in our lives. Yonat works at Full Heart Treatment Center for eating disorders in Santa Rosa as well as in private practice with teens, adults and families.
