Dr. Stych's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Stych "Dr. William Stych grew up in Traverse City, Michigan, and knew from a young age that he wanted to be involved in the healing arts and medicine. Several mentors helped him understand the importance of the gift to help people who are ill or injured. He found that he was able to best accomplish this through practice as a podiatrist in Traverse City, Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State University and then Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Stych was selected to serve his residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. There he was the Chief Podiatry Resident at the hospital during his final year, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. Ultimately, a fellowship was granted to study foot and ankle trauma in Switzerland. Upon completion of his studies in 1992, he moved back and opened his practice as a podiatrist in Traverse City, with his wife, daughter, and son. From 1995-2010, he was chief of the Podiatric Surgery section at Munson Medical Center. Some specific interests include diabetic foot care and sports medicine, but he treats all conditions of the foot and ankle. Dr. Stych is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He passed the rigorous recertification examinations in 2005 and 2013. When not working at his office or the hospital, Dr. Stych enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and making time everyday to get out into the great Northern Michigan outdoors by cycling, cross-country skiing, or hiking."
