Dr. McDonald is the newest member of the Center of Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Excellence (CORE). He practices at the newly opened CORE-South Bangerter location. Dr. McDonald earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from St. George's University school of Medicine. He then completed his Family Medicine training at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, California followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship in Billings, Montana. Dr. McDonald is American Board Certified in Family Medicine/Sports Medicine and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. While in Billings, Dr. McDonald served as a team physician for the Billings Mustangs, a minor league baseball team. He also served as a team physician, providing sporting event and training room coverage for football, volleyball, basketball, soccer and track with Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University athletics. In 2014, Dr. McDonald also served as a visiting team physician at the Cincinnati Reds spring training camp in Phoenix, Arizona.
