This content was provided by Timothy Schlensker "I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I have the privilege of working with gifted people, and doing relational ministry. But I come from a background of relational ministry as well; working with elementary age children all the way up through college. I have spent 10 years in youth and family ministry and have enjoyed helping teens and their families discover effective ways of working through life's challenges. Six of those years were in Lutheran churches as a Director of Christian Education, and four were in Korean-American churches as a Children's Ministry Director. In my traineeship, I served in a non-profit Christian therapy center in Orange, counseling families, couples, individuals, adolescents and children. After graduation, I had the opportunity to gain experience working in the Inland Empire with at-risk children of broken homes, adults on parole, youth on probation, teens ticketed for shop-lifting or drug possession, adults dealing with alcoholism or drug addiction, and I have provided therapeutic supervised visitation for families going through custody battles. Since then, I have worked in north OC/east LAC with dating or married couples, families, and individuals of all ages. I also specialize in men with addictions, adolescents in life transition, and Asian-American marriage/cultural dynamics. My experience in this field has supported the lesson that life had taught me – our relationships, whether internal or interpersonal, need to be treated with intentionality. If we allow our relationships to happen by accident, they will not thrive. Whatever you have come through in life's difficulties, I believe there is hope, but many times the problem seems too big to face on your own. You're not alone. Call Hope InSight Counseling at 657-246-2446. Come find insight for the hope in your life."

In my experience, a therapist can use the most effective theories, the latest interventions, and have the most comfy or expensive office... But it's the relationship that heals."
