Dr. Tauseef Tahir is a graduate of Thornwood High School, the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and earned his doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2002. He has received specialized training in low vision, vision therapy, disease and its management in various areas across the United States. He was nationally recognized as the only member of the graduating class of 2002 to receive the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award showing excellence in training and patient care. He has completed extensive training programs aimed at fitting difficult contact lens cases, glaucoma, retinal disease, diabetes, macular degeneration management and pediatrics. Dr. Tahir is fully DPA (diagnostic pharmaceutical agent) and TPA (therapeutic pharmaceutical agent) certified as well as fully certified for oral medication prescriptions as deemed by the state of IL. Dr. Tahir has helped kids as young as 4 months old to adults of 96 years young and has been providing care for over 12 years. He is an avid hobbyist in radio control helicopters/airplanes (RC and full scale), CNC machining, woodworking, saltwater fish, and photography. He enjoys designing and maintaining his own office website as well as their office reef tank. The details required in his many hobbies, keep him in touch with the requirements of precise sight.
