He also worked and consulted with hospitals, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and corporations throughout the Western United States and overseas assisting with organizational and human resource challenges. Steven was the Director of the Aftercare Program for Impaired Physicians and other health care professionals in association with the Idaho Medical Association. He was the Clinical Director of two Addiction and Mental Health treatment centers which he helped open in England. Workshop and group participants find him a knowledgeable, involving, humorous, and enthusiastic presenter who enjoys learning and growing with the people he teaches. People who have been to counseling before may be surprised at Steven's style. As one client put it, "He's not the kind of counselor who just sits back, nods his head, and says uh-huh every few minutes." Instead, Steven is actively involved in listening and maintaining a direct, engaging, and therapeutic dialogue with his clients. He is not shy about giving feedback and responding to his clients. Steven believes that counseling is first and foremost a relationship and he strives to create a helpful and healing dialogue from the beginning. Don't be surprised if, along with the tough stuff, Steven uses his sense of humor to help you see things from a different perspective or a new angle."
