This content was provided by Steven Khanjian "Associates for Counseling and Therapy (ACT) has been in operation for over twenty five years serving residents of Bergen County in the Ridgewood and vicinity municipalities.  ACT is an alliance composed of group of highly experienced independent practicing clinicians with expertise in diverse areas, and whose expertise are drawn to deliver the most effective, current, and evidenced based services to our clientele.  

Our services are aimed at helping adults and adolescents impacted by life experiences and/or substance abuse regain control of their lives. The basic premise that fuels our treatment philosophy is the belief that mental illness and/or substance abuse is treatable.

Our treatment philosophy draws from and utilizes the following evidence based and highly effective treatment modalities in the provision of treatment services to our clientele: Client Education, Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing/Enhancement therapy (MI/E); also incorporated in the matrix of our treatment modalities is our active recognition, support, and assistance for self-determination and to be an active participants in your treatment."
