She is particularly interested in the intersection of Eastern and Western medicine and has worked in a variety of clinical settings where the two can compliment each other. She was a research acupuncturist at Massachusetts General Hospital in a number of National Institute of Health-funded projects that studied the influence of acupuncture in patients with chronic low back pain and knee osteoarthritis, and was the senior acupuncturist and clinical supervisor at an outpatient health center focused on detoxification and recovery from substance abuse. Stefanie's specialties include pain management, stress reduction, and emotional wellbeing. She has treated patients in a variety of clinical settings, including Children's Hospital Boston, Fenway Health, Boston Medical Center's Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care unit, Pathways to Wellness (formerly the AIDS Care Project), Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, and the Dimock Community Health Center. She is certified in Clean Needle Technique by the CCAOM, board certified by the NCCAOM, and licensed and registered to practice acupuncture in the state of New York and Massachusetts. Additionally, she holds a certificate in Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient from Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Stefanie has taught yoga since 2004 at places such as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard University, Beth Israel Hospital, Equinox Fitness, and The Department of Justice, and enjoys teaching workplace and private yoga classes."
