I've been taking care of travelers from the Albany area going all over the world for almost 10 years. Previously I worked in Kenya for 17 years preparing Americans traveling all over Africa and to the rest of the world. I've been Certified by the International Society of Travel Medicine since 2007 and as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2000. Besides taking care of travelers at Safari Health I work at the Free Clinic of the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany.
Initial visits at Safari Health are scheduled for an hour and include: Assessment of your medical and immunization history. Personalized education on ways to keep yourself healthy. Individual folder of written materials. Administration of vaccines. Prescriptions for prevention of malaria and altitude illness, and treatment of traveler's diarrhea. Answering questions by phone or e mail prior to your trip.
