This content was provided by Rosemary Via "I wasn't always a therapist. I spent many years as a confused, fearful, backwards young woman seeking love and a recipe for happiness. I struggled with depression and anxiety as many young people do, and eventually entered the corporate world after college pursuing what I hoped would be an exciting career in business. Somehow the money, position, and corporate ladder weren't enough. I wanted something that felt elusive - inner joy. I've discovered how to live joyfully, but it wasn't a straight - or easy - path. It is now my mission to help others. From the perspective of someone who has felt helpless, has sobbed in despair, and has often felt inadequate, I journey with people into the dark places and into the light. I understand hurting, and I passionately want to be with people in their struggles. To this end, I have my Masters Degree in Pastoral Mental Health Counseling and hold a license as a professional counselor in Pennsylvania. My approach is simple - treat every person with respect, "do all the good I can do," abide by the ACA code of ethics, use evidence-based practices as my foundation, and always act with integrity. Like you, my life is a work-in-progress, so you won't be judged, but will be accepted, heard, and helped to the extent possible. YOUR life has meaning. Let's find it together."
This content was provided by Rosemary Via "I have an engaged, active approach in treatment. I'm change oriented because I want to help people move from a place of hopelessness, pain, or dysfunction to a place of physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness. I see therapy as a process - not a quick fix. The relationship begins with regularly scheduled visits to build safety and rapport while identifying issues, and eventually transitions to less frequent visits designed to fine-tune and maintain new, healthier thoughts, feelings, and actions. Treatment is collaborative and a partnership between client and therapist for the purpose of living more at peace with self and others in a joyful manner."
