Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Levine " Each individual is unique. Diagnostic labels can amputate uniqueness. Entering therapy requires courage, not mental illness. Creativity and expansion of life choices and self-knowledge are crucial elements in the therapeutic collaboration. I emphasize quality of relationship over rigid technique. Mutual trust, honesty, compassion, willingness to challenge, and encouragement are some of the essential qualities. Each person ultimately owns and determines his/her life choices. I will offer different perspectives, including exploration of your immediate concerns and integrate relevant personal history and dreams. Therapy may usefully be added to by other experiences such as mindful meditation, exercise, yoga, dance, enhanced quality of nutrition, finding purpose in work and creative expression, etc. My Psychology Today Profile provides additional information about some of my values and a link to my website. Respect and kindness and careful engagement characterize my approach."
