Most of our patients are children, so we do our best to make the exam fun and engaging for the child, without compromising the accuracy of the exam. With the help of my staff, who all know how to work with kids, we let the children think we are playing games instead of "performing an exam."
The same goes for people with special needs. We have options of completing an exam in a less intimidating atmosphere where there is no equipment or a chair in the middle of the room. We've worked out ways to accommodate people who would prefer a calmer setting in order for them to help us do our job to the best that we can.
We do the same kind-of approach for all ages; the goal is to make the patient experience as smooth and comfortable as possible, and we are always working on ways to fix, maintain, and improve our efforts to achieving that goal. This is true for little kids and big kids!"
