Prior to attending acupuncture school, Michelle worked as a massage therapist for 10 years, where she developed excellent skills in palpation. Michelle is an expert in the treatment of dermatological conditions using acupuncture and herbal medicine. She treats numerous skin issues including acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis. She also treats persistent and stubborn rashes, and itchy skin, that may not respond well to standard topical creams and medications. She has maintained a license in the state of North Carolina since 2007. A complementary consultation is available by Skype, in person, or by phone.
Michelle believes in holistic health, meaning that she empowers her patients to understand the importance of a unified approach to care. What we think can easily influence our health. So can what we do and feel. How about what we eat? We are essentially influenced by our environment, inside and out, and we can be subject to forgetting how to adapt to the changing conditions.
Usually, skin conditions have both an inside and outside component of disease. Michelle will advise with regard to diet, supplements and herbal formula to address the cause. She also applies many external applications, such as powders and salves for acne and rosacea, to penetrate the dermis and promote the healing of damaged cells.
Acupuncture is applied to reduce rashes and itching, prevent recurrence, and heal associated digestive or immune system issues.
