I had a Telehealth and he was amazing, showed compassion and was caring to my issues. Gave sound advice and was a great listener. This was the best experience I’ve had with someone from QTC through the VA

I had an awesome initial visit with Dr Murrell. He was kind and patient and asked all the right questions. He allowed me to say my piece and provided thoughtful feedback. Even offered up some tips that my be helpful. He didn't pressure me and allowed our conversation to progress naturally. Nothing was forced. I genuinely believe that he takes pride in his work and cares greatly for his patients. He took the time to do a thorough exam but it didn't feel intrusive. Thanks for your time and willingness Dr. Murrell. I appreciate it.

Dr. Murrell administered a VA PTSD interview to me. His demeanor was extremely accommodating, and his questions were all very relevant. He put me at ease during the interview process, and suggested several ways to overcome my PTSD and nightmares (apps, books, and medications). I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Springfield area.

About two years ago I began having panic attacks and experiencing intense anxiety. This had never happened to me before and I really didn’t even know what to do about it, but I knew I didn’t want to medicate the problem. I wanted to find the root of the problem and work through it. Dr Murrell advised a technique called EMDR. It was not a medication, but a process that helped my brain to heal through traumas in my childhood. I didn’t think it could be possible to achieve “normal” again, but here I am…cured of the anxiety and panic attacks and equipped to handle future anxiety. Dr. Murrell helped me immensely, giving me tools to work through the anxiety and get to the root causes. He asks the best questions and works with his clients at a pace that is comfortable for them. I’m so thankful I found him! I have my life back!

Finally, a Doctor that asked me in detail what I experienced in Vietnam. Our session was structured around ME rather than some pre-determined questionnaire. Dr. Murrell is a good listener and gives a lot of thought to his follow up questions. I found myself opening up more than I have in the past. His questions allowed me to probe my own history to detail I haven't been able to do up to this point. In short, he helped me.

I wanted to pass along to you the tremendous work Dr. Michael Murrell provided via video conference yesterday. I have seen many doctors over my 22 years of military service and many since my retirement in 2009. This gentleman was one of the most professional and caring people I have encountered. He is exactly what is needed today for our veterans!

As a veteran trying to get my C&P exam completed, Dr. Murrell left me hanging and was a no show for a telehealth appointment. As a result of him missing my appointment, I will have to miss more time from work to go to another appointment with a different provider. This is the second time that I had to reschedule due to him.

Mike is the most competent and specialized in his field I have ever encountered. He has provided treatment to me in the specialties of Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Family Therapy and has taught me the important ability to self assess and be self aware, so I know when to seek treatment. He has been, and would always be my first choice in his field. I highly recommend you make him yours!

My 1st encounter w/ Dr. Murrell was my introduction to “human dignity.” He tempers his listening instruction with grace, practical insight, edifying honesty, and rejoices in the tiniest of triumphs. His sound moral compass is crystal clear as he challenges me to see myself as God does ... to confront painful emotions from my broken past by looking straight into my heart and soul of the broken one. He has taught me to not let the feelings of failure weigh me down as I set boundaries in toxic relationships. Perhaps most of all, he has reassured me I am not alone. Thank you Jesus for giving this man the unique ability to connect and use his talents to help with my broken heart, PTSD, depression, anxiety, isolation, insomnia, fear . . .this man who clearly can see the giants in my path and has not for one minute turned away from me, but clearly willing to help me slay them one by one, one method or ten. He is a giant by rights in his own field. Thank you for loving what you do best Dr. M!

Dr. Murrell has helped me tremendously with anxiety & PTSD stemming from childhood trauma. After a few sessions of EMDR, I saw an improvement in my day-to-day anxiety level, as well as my ability to calm myself. He is very kind and easy to confide in, which is important to me as someone who finds it difficult to open up to people. I appreciate his explanations of some of the mechanics behind the things happening in my brain (e.g. a discussion of the limbic system), as this helps me understand my own responses and be gentler with myself. I highly recommend that anyone with any level of anxiety, phobia, or trauma give Dr. Murrell and EMDR a try. I am so, so glad that I did.
