Located in the heart of Crystal Lake, at the corner of Route 14 and Virginia Road, Michael Lim lives out his life's dream to help and assist people to live pain free on their daily lives. Michael is the owner of Advanced Pain Rehab, a wellness practice rooted in science and dedicated to the overall patient wellness and balance. Advanced Pain Rehab offers wellness and treatment services to patients who experience a wide variety of complications or chronic medical conditions. "We specialize in giving our patients relief from 50-75% of their pain in just one session," says Mike. "It may sound hard to believe at first, but has surprised most of my clients with the outcomes and giving them the relief they need and deserve quickly and efficiently." Using Microcurrent Point Stimulation, or MPS therapy, Mike helps the body's nervous system to relax and increases the endorphins. This MPS therapy is part of a pain treatment protocol that serves those with chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, inflammations and even concussions. Michael also uses MPS therapy protocol to assist with athletic performance, stress management, and overall patient wellness plans. McHenry County is lucky to have Advanced Pain Rehab, the only practice in Illinois that can treat concussions with results that include up to a 48% drop in harmful cortisol levels, a 46% decrease in ringing in the ears, and a 41% decrease in "brain fog". These harmful side effects of concussions can continue well past the initial injury, but Michael can curb symptoms almost immediately. Michael Lim began his healthcare career by working as a Physical Therapist. Over his 17 years in the physical therapy world, he was able to connect and treat patients of all abilities and ages. He found himself fascinated with the nervous system and wished there were ways to further treat and assist his patients that experienced significant chronic pain. When he began his education to become a Master Pain Practitioner, specializing in MPS therapy, he knew that this held the key to giving his patients the pain-free life they deserved. "I couldn't believe the results as I started practicing more with MPS protocol," says Lim. "Here were these patients who had been living with chronic pain or autoimmune disorders who were finally getting relief after a few MPS sessions. I knew this was what I was meant to do and share to the residents of McHenry County who are open to new treatment approaches outside Western Medicine." Now a Master Pain Practitioner, Michael serves patients in the Advanced Pain Rehab office and also teaches courses to educate other MPS practitioners. "It's my goal to get all my patients on the road to wellness, focusing on pain crisis prevention instead of pain management," says Mike. "I'm already seeing the change in our medical community, where patients are demanding better services and faster results than just traditional medicine. I am proud to be a part of a group of specialists that is wellness based, giving my patients the results and interventions they need to stay healthy and pain free much longer."
This content was provided by Michael Lim "Every injury either big or small, will always heal when provided with the right atmosphere of healing. To treat and decrease pain is the simple /easier part, but I put a lot of emphasis in reeducating my patients as to how they ended up getting hurt, how the body can heal, how they can help themselves heal, to be able to function and be more productive again. A lot of people expect total relief or a miraculous disappearance of their issues after a treatment session, but in reality, there is something our body does best-- HEAL ITSELF, when allowed to heal.
We live in this over stimulated world, that have difficulty slowing down to listen to our own bodies. With MPS therapy or needle (Less) acupuncture, i can help reset your body, to calm it down, and allow it to recover from the worldly stress we inflict to it everyday. "
