She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with over 20 years of experience based out of Longmont, Colorado. Nutrition Counseling can be done in her office or remotely via phone or videoconferencing. She specializes in working with people who have challenging medical conditions that often come with confusing nutritional needs. Some of these conditions include Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Autoimmune Diseases like Crohn's, Multiple Sclerosis or Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as conditions such as Fibromylagia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to name a few. She also provides nutrition counseling for weight loss, non-insulin dependent Diabetes, cholesterol problems, and vegetarian diets. She received her education at a private college in Minnesota and moved on to complete her internship at the world renowned John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She has worked at large teaching hospitals in the Intensive Care and Bone Marrow Transplant units as well as small community hospitals and rehabilitation centers providing counseling for weight loss and diabetes to name a few. Melissa holds a certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) and Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT). She uses her CLT experience to analyze the inflammatory response of certain foods and food chemicals on individuals. This is particularly useful for people with chronic inflammatory diseases. Melissa specializes in Gastrointestinal Diseases, Autoimmune Diseases, and food allergies and sensitivities. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group. "
