Dr. Bruther received the "Woman of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare" award in 2009 from the American Biographical Institute, and is considered one of "America's Top Optometrists" by the Consumers' Research Council of America. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. She also serves as an adjunct faculty for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and for the SUNY College of Optometry. Over the years, she has lectured to students as well as colleagues, and has published research in The Journal of Glaucoma. She is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and holds licensure in both New Jersey and New York.
