Lavelda Naylor's bio

This content was provided by Lavelda Naylor "I love what I do and see therapy as a positive way to employ scientific knowledge and create a more meaningful, manageable life. Thus, I promote a research-practitioner model in my practice. While I currently favor private practice work over institutional research, I stay abreast of current research findings and often inform treatment plans with researched techniques shown to improve functioning. As a published researcher myself, I have investigated attentional control mechanisms, the bilingual brain, and ADHD medication attrition. My current research interests are technology's impact on treatment outcomes and group therapy efficacy for health impaired populations. In keeping with my research driven perspective on being a mental health professional, I founded The Key Counseling Services of SA. In addition to therapy services, we offer a variety of professional consulting services, such as research planning, professional editing, curriculum design, etc. Current consulting partners include Transplants for Children and Moms Connect About Autism. Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Lavelda Naylor " I find that most everyone can benefit from improved personal awareness, learning new tools to cope with stress, and changing how communication is conducted. With couples and families, I see the most change from better communication, being able to empathize with each other, and to work on changing the thinking process around issues. For mood disorders, I find awareness and responsiveness to internal cycles and self acceptance work to be highly beneficial. If any of these ideas appeal to you, contact me ASAP! Don't wait any longer, start the change process now. "
