This content was provided by Kathleen McMullan "Life can present serious struggles to all of us. During those times, the assistance of a trained counselor provides effective support to sort through your options, and to make choices true to your life goals and values. If you are at a crossroads or feel bogged down by past decisions, counseling offers you a time and place to re-assess and prepare for the next stage of your journey. Prior to clinical work, I was an academic adviser for non-traditional students at Washington University for 15 years. I enjoy working with teens and adults. My clients are ages 12 to 80 years old. I also meet with couples. I have experience assisting people with depression and anxiety issues, recovery from trauma, communication issues, the complications of living with ADHD, parenting, and improving self esteem. My therapeutic approach is primarily cognitive behavioral therapy. I am studying the fascinating area of positive psychology. I offer evening hours Monday thru Thursday. Friday hours are 10 AM to 5 PM. Easy access: The Arbor Counseling office in Swansea, IL is right off of Route 159, easily accessible from Fairview Heights and Belleville, IL. I work at my Clayton office on Wednesdays and Fridays. The office is across the street from a Metrolink stop."
