Her intention is to help restore balance by careful cultivation of body, spirit and mind. She employs a blend of effective, natural therapies to address physical and/or emotional health issues. Her honest approach invites a safe, collaborative atmosphere with her patients, focused on immediate as well as long-lasting preventative medical care. Julie volunteers for the Portland Veteran's Acupuncture Project (SE Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church at SE 28th & SE Stephens; Thur. 5-8 PM) A significant focus of my acupuncture practice has been treating military personnel. In addition to my PVAP efforts, I've been treating PTSD, anxiety/depression, pain management, and chemical dependency on active duty soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq (Freedom Care Military Program; Cedar Hills Hospital, Beaverton, OR). And I've personally observed significant improvements in their physical conditions and general well-being resulting from these acupuncture treatments. As such, I'm convinced that acupuncture can play a vital role in combination with other treatment paradigms in caring for our soldiers and veterans."
