Wow- I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found Dr. Asen! I had seen a few therapists in the past and liked them, but never felt like it really helped. A family friend referred me to her and said she was the “best” and I totally agree. From day one I felt comfortable and that she really understood my mixed emotions dealing with lots of family issues. She listened and I felt really heard what I was saying. She explained the importance of obtaining my history so we could use my past experiences to help me with current ones. I originally didn’t think it was necessary , but after working with her and seeing how she tied it all together- I am beyond grateful for her expertise and insight. Dr. Asen was nurturing but didn’t let me fall back into old patterns- she confronted in a way that it always felt like she was my advocate for me to achieve the most I could, and be the best I could be. She let me set the goals and helped guide me to reach them!

Excellent Family Therapist! We went to see Dr. Asen to help us with a number of different issues. She listened to all of us - we all felt supported and validated. We had gone to another therapist before and did not feel like he understood what we were trying to achieve, and my wife felt like he always was on "my side". We all agreed that she heard all of us and was not biased. We all felt like she supported us and also helped us to word our concerns to each other, without taking one side or another. Our family is doing so much better because of her assistance- all of our communications have improved. My marriage is even stronger as we both felt she was there for all of us! We would all give her more stars than 5 - so happy she was there for us.

Dr. Julie Asen is NOT qualified to give appropriate marital counseling. She is “old school,” & spends excessive time on a couples’ history rather than diving into their difficulties. After wasting a month of crucial time & money, we went to another therapist who explained that once you’re in crisis mode, the crisis needs to be addressed. You can always go back to a couples’ history later on. Go to Dr. Julie Asen only if you’re ready to kill off your marriage!

Dr. Asen has been wonderful with my daughter. She makes her feel very comfortable and sends her with helpful tools to make her successful.
