This content was provided by Jennifer Ratliff-Moss "I enjoy working with families, adolescents and adults as they face life's challenges. Everybody struggles from time to time with loneliness, worry, sadness, anger, and fear. Family difficulties, low self-esteem, problems in relationships, and school and work stress are common. When these issues persist over time, then psychotherapy can be helpful. We will start in with an initial consultation where we can meet each other and determine whether or not we are good a fit. At this initial consultation, I will listen attentively to your concerns and then suggest a therapeutic approach which willl best help you achieve your stated goals. I integrate approaches, such as psychodynamic (which promotes self-understanding); cognitive-behavioral (which focuses on strategies for treating the symptoms). I also draw from family systems, dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness therapy. "

I believe wholeheartedly that my clients are the sole expert in their own lives. I do not subscribe to a one size fits all approach. As Margaret Mead said, " Each person is unique, just like every one else." Although I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and CBT and appreciate the power of past experience and the unconscious, I am most comfortable in the here and now, employing mindfulness therapy. With training and practice in Zen Meditation, I have both personal and professional experience of the positive effect Zen Mindfulness practice can have on individuals and families. I enjoy working with couples who are struggling but committed; with parents struggling with teenagers and teenagers struggling with parents, or school and with Individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, or ADHD."
