In addition, I have worked in China and Nome Alaska (which is kindova foreign country!). As a Native American, I have specialized in multi-cultural psychology and as a world traveler, growing up around the world - see myself as a Global Citizen. "
This content was provided by Dr. Jordan "Depression and Anxiety are natural reactions associated with Crisis. It is my professional/personal belief that in every major crisis - there are two events co-occurring. One, is a perceived threat to the SELF; and two, a crucial point when something begins in one's personal growth. Often - this is an opportunity for deeper, spiritual insight.
I have traveled and lived around the world throughout my life - meeting many different people. In over 35 years as a therapist, I have worked with a wide diversity of cultures, religious worldviews, sexual orientations, and ethnic groups. My preferred method of treatment is often Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, however – my decision on treatment orientation is tempered by the individual's worldview and immediate needs. Sometimes an Existential, Psychodynamic, or Behavioral perspective is more appropriate. I often use Mindfullness techniques such as meditation. In addition, I have many year's experience in Substance Abuse Counseling."
