Jack M. Daniel, M.Ac.(UK), L.Ac., Dipl.Ac.,(NCCAOM), has practiced and taught acupuncture continuously in the United States and England since 1973. Jack has taught many of the acupuncturists now practicing in the Mid-Atlantic States. He has designed and delivered basic and advanced education programs for acupuncturists in the United States and England. In October of 2006, he was appointed and then in October 2008 and 2010 was re-appointed to the staff of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Hospital, as Acupuncturist, in the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Program in the Oncology Section. He has treated patients at the Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Care Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD in the outpatient clinic. Jack has been a Fellow of the National Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 1993. He received his Master of Acupuncture qualification from the College of Traditional Acupuncture (UK) in 1979 where he also obtained his Licentiate in 1973. He received his California acupuncture license in 1979. Jack's Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Connecticut affords him a strong foundation in the sciences. In addition, Jack is licensed in the state of Maryland, where he has been practicing Chinese medicine continuously since 1988. His first U.S. practice began in Maryland in 1975, where he co-founded the Centre for Traditional Acupuncture in Columbia, MD, formerly known as the Traditional Acupuncture Institute and then Tai Sophia Institute. It is now known as the Maryland University of Integrative Health. He served as lead faculty for the Traditional Acupuncture Institute's (TAI) California programs for seven years until 1988, and for the next seven years served as Dean of Students and Director of Alumni Affairs. He was named Teacher of the Year, awarded by the graduating students of the TAI Sophia Institute in 2003. He has authored newspaper and journal articles, and has appeared numerous times on television and radio discussing acupuncture. He has served as an expert witness for the U.S. Justice Department and the FBI in U.S. District Court. He lives in Baltimore, MD with his wife, two sons and two awesome grandsons.
