This content was provided by Dr. Brooks "Dr. David Brooks is currently the only Neuropsychologist in Central or Western North Dakota. He is board certified by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABN) and by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology ABPP-RH. Dr. Brooks evaluates those with suspected dementia, history of brain injury and other neurological disorders to clarify memory and cognitive functioning. He also is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and uses EMDR therapy to treat Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), specific fears and most anxiety disorders. Dr. Brooks also treats adults with depression and adjustment issues."

This content was provided by Dr. Brooks "Regarding the psychotherapy component Dr. Brooks' practice, his goal is to assist people to counteract PTSD, depression and anxiety as rapidly as possible. Dr. Brooks believes that most individuals with those types of symptoms can be assisted significantly typically in 10 or less treatment sessions. Dr. Brooks is able to best serve individuals who are motivated to get better, willing to make some changes in expectations and behaviors and who have a sense of humor. "

Dr. Brooks is friendly and amiable. Despite this fact, his EMDR therapy methods leave much to be desired. He has actually stated that EMDR therapy is supposed to have you focus on the trauma, and then let you do the therapy, in silence, while your brain re-encodes the event.
