Dr. Abelow's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Abelow "Dr. Cheryl Abelow has been practicing as a physical therapist in a wide range of rehabilitation environments for more than 20 years. This includes acute care settings, short-term inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient care. Her experience has been quite broad, spanning almost every major area in a major medical center and in rehabilitation settings: orthopedics, pediatrics, ICU, cardiac care, neurology, oncology, pulmonary, and behavioral patients. At various times in her career, Dr. Cheryl has been on staff at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA, the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham/Natick, MA, and at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. Dr. Cheryl opened FlexPlus Physical Therapy in 2005 with the goal to provide one-on-one care to the MetroWest community. In 2016, FlexPlus joined the FYZICAL® family to provide state-of-the-art programs in balance and total well-being. Dr. Cheryl believes that having the individuzalized attention from a therapist will get patients better, faster. Dr. Cheryl is a licensed doctor of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and holds three degrees from the University of Massachusetts: a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Abelow "FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers of MetroWest knows that every person is different. No one heals exactly the same, and people have different goals for their rehabilitation. Therefore, every plan of care is individualized based on you, our patient. At your initial evaluation, we work with you to create a plan based on your limitations and your goals. Maybe you want to play basketball again, or just climb stairs without pain. Perhaps you want to remain living independently in your own home. Whatever your end goal, we can help you reach it."

Patient Comments (1)

I've been here several times for multiple issues. I always feel a lot better after, and I know how to keep myself feeling better at home thanks to the home exercises (even if I hate doing them...). The entire team is outstanding.
