Dr. Harley's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Harley "We have now been affiliated with Northside Hospital for over 2 years, and have been very happy being able to provide the Alpharetta and Cumming area with quality foot and ankle care. We have performed over 1,000 surgical procedures in this short amount of time. Our office specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery , as well as trauma, sports medicine, and diabetic wound care. A little about my education: I am originally from Duluth, Georgia. I attended North Georgia College on an military scholarship with the Georgia Army National Guard. I proudly served as a Combat Medic and Medical Officer for 9 years. I went to New York City for Medical School, and then to Los Angeles for my medical residency. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with some of the country's top foot and ankle surgeons in the areas of: foot and ankle trauma, reconstructive surgery, orthopedic surgery, limb salvage techniques, external and internal fixation techniques, diabetic wound care, plastic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, foot and ankle trauma, and elective reconstructive procedures. Soon after residency, I also had the opportunity to travel to Russia for an advanced fellowship in external fixation techniques from the center that developed this technology. My work experience: I returned to Georgia in 2005, and have worked with two amazing groups of doctors. This allowed me to provide my specific skill set to many patients in need around the Atlanta area."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Harley "My philosophy on caring for my patients emphasizes effective communication with each patient in order to ensure that there is an understanding of what they have, why they have it, and how I can best help them.  I feel that it is paramount for doctors to spend as much time with each patient as needed, in order to ensure that understanding. I have designed our schedule to allow for prompt appointments, and enough time to properly treat every patient. "

Dr. Harley did an amazing job replacing my ankle. After years of pain and trouble walking, I am pain free and back to playing golf. He provided all the information I needed as to what I should expect after surgery, recovery, and physical therapy. I highly recommend Dr. Harley.

Although my problem was complicated and had a lot of history, he took the lengthy amount of time to discuss my history, diagnose my problem, and make sure I understood his findings and opinion. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
