I was very apprehensive when I found out that my Father was going to be seen by a Nurse and not a Doctor. After meeting her, we decided to keep her as his long term provider. Yes, she is all that and she really cares.

I went to her for a concern about having an ulcer on my left leg because there were no appointment available for a specialist doctor to see me soon. The reason I went is because I wanted to get a venous duplex ultrasound for assessment. She took a look at my lower legs and feet, felt my pulse and indicated there was no need for surgery since I had great pulse of both my lower legs. I indicated to her I had a small ulcer right in front of the bone part. Without taking a look at it (it was covered with a bandage) she indicated that ulcers are usually low in the leg, close to the ankle. Again she stated your veins are fine, no need for surgery. Again I indicated I did not seek surgery. I was left with a lack of understanding and proper medical concern of my condition. I was referred to a vein specialist by my dermatogist. Come to find out by my heart specialist, I have a venous leg ulcer for insufficiency blood flow to my legs. I am very disappointed and will never return.
