I am a former client of Amy who went on to become a licensed psychotherapist. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to have her see a family member as well as themselves be cautious. In my early 20s, my father referred me to care via Amy as he had sought out a therapist for both of us. I later learned that they would discuss the content of our sessions. Amy would also share stories of her other clients with me, and having since studied ethics of the counseling field myself, I can attest that her disclosures did not serve a clinical purpose. Please exercise caution when intermingling family systems as the ultimate outcome can be an erasure of trust rather than the improvement of the family system. This occurred in 2012 and her standards of care may have improved since then, but it continues to have been a trauma for me. If you've received quality ethical care in the 2020s, disregard. But if this behavior has continued, please be cautious. Thank you!
