I approach physical complaints very differently than all other chiropractic providers and most physical therapy providers in Wisconsin. I use McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) to evaluate and treat, if deemed appropriate, all musculoskeletal complaints. I am one of two chiropractors in Wisconsin that is certified in MDT. Many providers that perform manual therapy are aware of McKenzie therapy or MDT but they do not understand the subtle clues that can be obtained by performing a thorough MDT evaluation. I have been practicing chiropractic care since 1991. I have been using MDT since 2012 to evaluate and treat spinal and extremity conditions. The combination of MDT and chiropractic is extremely effective when treating musculoskeletal conditions. It is very rewarding to work together with patients and not just "doing something to a patient". When patients understand that they have the ability to affect their complaint by using a simple movement or posture, they become empowered. The patient then realizes that they are not under the control of their pain anymore but that they can control and abolish their complaint.
