Terri Matson earned a graduate degree from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture and is national board certified by the NCCAOM. She continues to study a Contemporary Chinese style of pulse diagnosis with Lonny Jarrett teacher, author and scholar of Chinese Medicine.
Terri's love for Oriental Medicine grew from the early macrobiotic teachings of Micho & Avaline Kushi. She opened the first macrobiotic restaurant at the San Diego East West Center, where she taught classes for macrobiotic theory, nutrition, and seasonal cooking preparation.
She served several years as board secretary to the Michigan Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAAOM). Michigan is one of four states that does not have licensure for acupuncture. The MAAOM is the non-profit organization working very hard to create licensing for acupuncturists in the state of Michigan.
Terri was raised in a family of osteopathic physicians. Her grandfather was a chiropractor and her mother owned the first health food store in Milford in 1976, providing a strong influence that continues to be a resource for living a healthy and mindful life.
