Dr. Susan Geersen, DC
I was fortunate to grow up in the Missouri River Valley town of Yankton, SD. My love of the quiet, open prairie and the beautiful river brings me back to visit often. During my childhood, I was very active and played on three state basketball championship teams. When I was twelve, I sustained a severe spinal injury that almost led me to a spinal fusion and a body cast for six months. A chiropractic adjustment saved me from that surgical procedure. It left a big imprint on me. My love of science led me to attend SD School of Mines and Technology where I studied chemistry and geology for four years. Medical school was next on the agenda. I scrapped that idea and decided to use my love of movement, science, and people to become a doctor of chiropractic. I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN in 1989. After moving to Denver in 1990, I set up my practice and have been fortunate enough to be able to assist many people with a variety of health issues. My passions are anything to do with nature (especially rocks and birds), music, my dogs, my family and friends.

Dr. Geersen's Care Philosophy

Since 1989, my focus as a chiropractor has been to help patients alleviate health issues by finding the cause of the problem, providing the best treatment, and teaching prevention. Many times the traditional medical approach to pain is to mask symptoms with medication. My work involves looking at the whole person to examine the interplay between the structural, chemical, and emotional levels of the body to diagnose and treat complex issues. I use Applied Kinesiology and orthopedic and neurological evaluations to create a diagnosis. My chiropractic adjustments are all done by soft tissue manipulation, neuromuscular re-education, craniosacral therapy, and lymphatic massage. The most important facet of healing is to prevent the problem from reoccurring. My job is teach you how to strengthen, stretch, and alter your lifestyle to help maintain alignment.

Heartily recommend Dr Geersen. After living with lymphedema in both legs for ten years following lymph node surgery, Dr Geersen's treatments eliminated 80% of the pain & symptoms I had experienced for years. She added a series of specific exercises to add strength and flexibility so that after just a few months I am feeling stronger and stable again. Dr Geersen understands how to bring the body back into balance, she is terrifically skilled, kind and very compassionate.

I have referred many people to Dr Geersen and all have loved her work. When I think of her work, the following comes to mind: she is healing the earth one body at a time. Dr Geersen takes her time with you and treats the whole body. I have been a client and fan of hers for at least 12 years. She works the body as if she were a sculptor and my body becomes like soft clay in her hands.

I have been a patient of Dr Geersen for over 20 yrs and throughout the entire time I found her to be an excellent health practitioner in every sense. Not only is she excellent at Chiropractics but she is caring, considerate, helpful, inrtuitive and very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend Dr. Geersen to anyone. Although I have not visited Dr. Geerson over the past two years as I no longer live in Denver Metro, I always make an appointment everytime I am in Colorado.

Dr Geersen has helped me learn so much about my health; how to get on a path to healing without a lifetime of pills or procedures and how to make continued good choices to maintain that well-being. Along with sound medical practices and gentle chiropractic she listens, advises and strives to educate.

I have seen Dr. Susan regularly for 10 years. She is not your average crack the back chiropractor. She has many tools in her 'bag of tricks' including kineseology, massage, laser, and percussion. Susan is excellent at finding and alleviating the source of pain/issues. She provides exercises and stretches to be done at home to strengthen and stabilize weak muscles. I have recommended Dr Susan to many friends and family. My 90 year old Mom adores Susan. We both come for monthly tuneup visits.

I've been a patient of Dr. Geersen for 15 years. Unlike other Chiropractors, she treats the entire body holistically. She never just corrects one area of pain, because she knows other factors contribute to imbalance. She aligns the entire body, using a variety of modalities. Her knowledge of the body is encyclopedic! She's a gifted healer with a photographic memory, and a wicked sense of humor. She's the first person I call if anything goes wrong. Me and my family LOVE her! No one else like her!

We have been patients of Dr. Geersen's since the mid-1990s. We now live in the Mid-West and miss her services dearly. In fact, when we come to the Denver area, we often make an appointment just to get back on track. She is truly a gifted healer whom we will never be able to replace. Thank goodness for airplanes!

I have been a patient of Dr. Geersen's for over 10 years. She is amazing at keeping my body in alignment and my health on track. She is excellent at checking me over everytime I see her and then recommending things that I need to do between visits to maintain my wellness. She is much more than a chiropractor and I would highly recommend her.

Dr G is amazing. She is not only medically knowledgeable but incredibly intuitive about your body and what it needs/has experienced. When other Dr's couldn't help out, Dr G figured it out and made a huge difference in my healing. I go to her for regular 'tune ups' even when there is nothing major out of whack with my system and I always leave feeling more energetic and balanced.

I have seen Dr. Geersen on and off for over 25 years. Not only is she the first phone call I make when in need of Chiropractic attention, I also recommend her to my own clients. As a licensed massage therapist, I am very picky about whom I refer and I have the utmost trust in Dr. Geersen's professionalism and expert care. Her wide range of education in therapeutic modalities and experience make her one of the absolute best in the field.

Dr. Geerson has been amazing! She is an amazing clinician, healer, and partner in my health. She seems as invested in my health as me. If you've been afraid of going, or someone says don't go to a chiropractor, Dr Geerson isn't that type of dr. I can not stress enough, if you need body work, don't hesitate to call her. This doctor knows what she is doing. I'm lucky to have found her.
in Englewood, CO |
I've seen Dr. Geersen for over 20 years and have referred many family, friends, office mates, even my hair stylist to her. She's that good. She treated me for long term chronic pain that no other healthcare providers could figure out and those included a whole host of doctors. She's thorough in her intake process, takes the time to listen, answers all my questions and has a great bed side manner offering humor, empathy and great insight into what ails me. I now go to her for monthly maintenance.
