Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

I was born and raised in South Haven, MI, but have lived in Holland since 1993. I am in private practice with three partners. I also have a clinic in South Haven to better serve the community there. I am Board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in both foot and ankle surgery. Less than 3% of podiatrists have attained this level of credentialing. I am on staff at both Holland Hospital and South Haven Health Systems Hospital. I continue to update myself on advances in my field by participating in at least 50 hours of training per year. I believe my patients deserve a full explanation of their conditions and treatment options. Oftentimes, common foot problems can be resolved with conservative care. I am prepared to provide surgical solutions if this is appropriate and desired by the patient.
Personally, I have been married since 1984 and have 4 children. I have an identical twin brother who lives with his family in South Haven. I enjoy the outdoors: hunting, down hill skiing, water sports.
