Biography

More information about the DABCI program:

The Council on Diagnosis and Internal Disorders (CDID), established in 1985, is an educational board and specialty council of the American Chiropractic Association that administers and coordinates the post doctoral degree, Diplomate in Diagnosis and Internal Disorders (DABCI). Our physicians are trained in modern medical diagnosis, functional medicine, and natural therapeutics.  Chiropractic physicians with a DABCI post doctoral certification utilize conventional medical diagnostics, specialized functional testing, and wholistic medicine diagnostic evaluations. DABCI physicians routinely  employ methods such as blood laboratory studies, urinalyses, electrocardiograms, vascular doppler ultrasound, spirometry, DEXA bone density testing, salivary assay hormonal and neurotransmitter tests, IgG food allergy testing, diagnostic imaging to include x-ray, CT, MRI, comprehensive gastrointestinal stool analyses, and many other diagnostic tools. A DABCI uses therapeutic methods which emphasize conservative and minimally invasive approaches and minimize risk to the patient. Diplomates in diagnosis and internal disorders use treatments such as clinical nutrition, dietetics, exercise, vitamin and mineral supplementation, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, acupuncture, natural hormone replacement, and pharmacologic counseling. Many conditions and disease states can be resolved by utililzing these natural methods. The Council on Diagnosis of Internal Disorders promotes our physicians as uniquely qualified to provide this type of comprehensive natural medical care.               Qualifications:  A DABCI degree (Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists) requires doctors to attend and complete a 300 hour post doctorate course, pass a national certification examination and requires 12 hours of continuing education in advanced coursework each year. The DABCI program is recognized by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and certified by the American board of Chiropractic Internists (ABCI). The DABCI program is also one of 6 programs recognized and approved by the American Board of Chiropractic Specialties (ABCS).

Mission Statement:            To maintain and promote the chiropractic profession as primary health care providers, support the advancement of chiropractic, influence full scope practice within the profession and in current and future health reform legislation.

Dr.Tolmos has been more than just a doctor since our first visit. He listens, he patiently explains, he actually cares to "fix" you, and is one of the most sincere and professional specialist I have ever met with. I had severe sleeping issues a few months back, Tolmos got straight to the bottom of it, we did bloodwork, he knew the issue right away, I followed his "natural" instructions, and now I'm sleeping like a baby. I couldn't believe it. He has really been mine, and now my husbands, angel!!

I've known & been a patient of Dr. Tolmos for 8 years. He is a very caring & knowledgeable person, with excellent "bedside manners" & great in listening to issues & problems. Armed with blood & urine analysis & physical checks, he is v good in diagnosing & coming up with a great plan of action. He makes an excellent goal-oriented treatment plan with a long term perspective of living healthy w/good habits & letting the body do the healing, with natural supplements. He is also a great chiropractor

At Frontier Spine and Health Care we provide comprehensive diagnosis and holistic treatment for all health concerns and internal disorders. We focus on treating physical, chemical, and emotional imbalances that allow disease to develop. We believe that individualized lifestyle medicine is the future of medicine. From the common cold to autoimmune disease, we help our patients heal instead of managing disease. We do coordinate with other specialists in the community to administer and help reduce patient's medications as they begin to no longer need them. We understand healing is a journey and we are here to help and answer any questions you may have about your own personal journey.

Nasal Drain - This procedure is excellent for anyone dealing with chronic or acute sinusitis or allergies. We take a mild silver protein diluted in distilled water and apply to the sinuses using a cotton swab applicator. The process lasts 20-45 minutes depending on the amount of mucus that drains from the cavities. This helps to reduce inflammation and also "clean out" dried debris from previous exposure to allergens.

Nasal Specific Technique - This procedure consists of using a finger cot as a balloon attached to an endonasal bulb. This "balloon" is guided into each of the sinus passages and then inflated to "stent" open the passages. This is very helpful for those people that have had chronic inflammation of their sinuses or suffered trauma to their nose which has decreased their ability to breathe or drain properly. See more about this and even watch a video demonstration at our website under the services tab.
