I work with patients in psychotic distress as well as mild and moderate anxiety and depressive issues: Individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children. I incorporate psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, somatic, and holistic methods. I listen to the patient's concerns and ask questions to explore past and present stressors and develop collaborative strategies to manage and suggest change where indicated. The patient is the center of my work. Careful listening is my most critical skill.
I have specialized training and experience in severe trauma. In addition anxiety and depressive issues, I treat the very common and serious childhood trauma of not being accepted for who you are, rather being objectified, i.e., accepted for what you can do for a parent initially, thereafter for others.
