Melissa Pfenning, MED
I was born in Montana and I grew up here in Post Falls, and moved to Arizona in the middle of my junior year of high school. After graduating high school, I flew to Maryland to be a nanny. I married there and had 2 sons. I divorced in 1995 and moved with my two boys back to Montana where I lived until 2002. I moved back to Post Falls in 2002, and went to college. I received my Master's in Education/emphasis on Vocational Rehabilitation and Community Counseling in 2008. I earned my Clinic license status in 2010. Since exiting college, I have attending numerous training opportunities involving trauma. I am fully trained in EMDR and Neurofeedback. I absolutely love the work I do, and see myself doing this until I retire. In addition to the work I do, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 2 grown boys. My husband and I are avid hunters and we love spending time in the woods on the weekends. If you want or feel the need to know more about me, feel free to ask. :)

I am a licensed mental health therapist.  I specialize in trauma and family systems therapy.  I am trained in Neurofeedback as well as EMDR.  Neurofeedback is extremely effective in diminishing or eliminating PTSD symptoms, as well as significant reduction in anxiety, fear, migraines, chronic pain, ADHD, Bipolar, and more.  In addition to trauma therapy, I am very skilled with family system issues, as well as issues related to life in general.  My favorite population to work with is the teenager or young adult who is learning to become an independent adult.  I also have great respect and admiration for those who have served in the military, and wish to be able to give back to them by offering services tailored to meet their needs.

Melissa Pfenning says...

I have been trained in EMDR which is a therapy technique highly reviewed for working through trauma in a person's life.

I am also trained in Neurofeedback, which is a therapy which uses low wave Q-EEG waves to train the brain to self regulate more efficiently.
