Mawiyah Kambon, Ph.D., a.k.a. Nana Efia Nsia Asantewaa is a licensed clinical psychologist and traditional healer. She specializes in African-centered adult, child and family healing practices. Her work engages hypnotherapy, guided meditation, and storytelling. She is a former President and life member of the Association of Black Psychologists committed to promoting the study of Afrikan-centered theories and practices. In addition to her professional work she is known as Mama Mawiyah, a community organizer, wife, mother and grandmother. Nana serves as an ?komfo? in the Akan tradition from Ghana, West Africa and incorporates those ancient and traditional practices in her work. Through her work Dr. Kambon assists our people in a process of restoration according to our traditional and historic principles: mind, body and spirit.
