My clinical approach is compassion based. Although grounded in psychodynamic theory, health psychology, a clinical developmental and attachment based perspective. I work from an integrative and flexible theoretical position, drawing from warm spirituality- the wisdom traditions and ancient Buddhist truths, weaving them together with contemporary trauma theory (Briere). With everyday Buddhist Norm Fisher and Mark Epstein, Buddhist Psychoanalyst, I see the traumas of life, even the everyday ones such as fear and loneliness, as universal, and opportunities for growth -- and the heart ("affectivity") as the place where true healing can occur. Most of my speciality work, training, skills, experience and significant expertise pertain to severe stress and trauma - coping and healing, for children, including very young children, their parents/caregivers, adolescents, adults.
