Lynnette Cooper, LPC
I was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years when I decided to return to school at age 49! After MUCH work, I got my Master's degree in Counseling 3 years later. I learned a great deal through my Master's program, and then the Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate that I received 2 years after my Master's Degree. However, I believe that I can also offer many years of LIFE EXPERIENCE that helps me understand and empathize with my clients. I have 3 grown, successful children and have been married for 34 years. I have overcome MANY struggles in my own life, having come from a broken home that included alcoholism and infidelity as well as the many struggles I've had as I have "lived life."

I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy just to name a few of modalities that I utilize in my counseling practice.  I have been seeing couples and individuals for over 9 years.

I specialize in working with couples and individual adults and adolescents.  I have experience in working with Attachment Issues and Adoption, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, and many other conditions you may have experienced.

I am unique as a counselor, because I am experienced in many areas and I OFFER Christian Counseling to those who are interested.  However, I am not exclusively a Christian Counselor, do not impart my beliefs on my clients who are not interested, and value each person for who they are.  I believe in seeing all clients through loving, caring, and compassionate eyes while empathizing with my clients as we work through issues together.

Lynnette Cooper says...

I have specialized training in many areas, including Emotionally Focused Therapy for those couples who are struggling with marital issues.  This mode of therapy is highly effective and can help a couple fall back in love and connect again in an emotional way.

I have training in treating Anxiety, Worry, Depression, Anxiety, Feelings of Hopelessness, Emotional Disorders, Panic Attacks, Fear, and many other challenging issues through the Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Other trainings include:

Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Trauma.

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)

Gottman Marriage Therapy

Evidence Based Treatment for Trauma Victims, PTSD, Grief and Loss

Parenting Counseling for Parents of Strong Willed Children

Treatment for ADHD and Processing Disorders

Attachment-Focused Family Therapy and Emotional Recovery and Behavioral Change in Children who have experienced Trauma.
