Dr. Parke is a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Society. She is an active member of the Western Harnett Lions Club where she plays an integral role in providing much needed eye care to the children of her community. Dr. Parke earned her Bachelors of Science Degree from Arizona State University and was awarded her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. After graduating with honors and a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society, she returned to Ft. Bragg, NC where she and her husband were stationed. She established the first optometric private practice on Ft. Bragg in the North Post Exchange in 2004 providing optometric care for the military members and their families as well as the retiree and DoD population. After retirement from military service, Dr. Parke and her family made the decision that NC would remain their home and they would continue to serve the community that they had come to love. In 2010, Dr. Parke began the establishment of Northgate Eye Center, O.D., P.A. in her community to bring needed vision care, development, employment, and additional tax revenues to the area she calls home.
Dr. Parke and her family are active in their community through donations to local schools, charity events and sponsorship of area projects. They provide coaching and guidance to youth football and youth baseball leagues and are active supporters of Harnett Co. and Ft. Bragg youth activities. Northgate Eye Center provides outreach and assistance to transitioning military members that choose to stay in the area after their service and begin careers in local business. Dr. Parke and her husband Bob live in the community they serve where they raise their son Bobby who was born at Womack and would never want to live anywhere else.

Northgate is one of only a few chosen sites in the country who can provide this cutting edge technology to you. A quick, painless, 6 second scan of the lens in your eye using light. This test can identify a risk factor for diabetes that no other test can identify more accurately. Diabetes is the leading cause of permanent blindness in patients under the age of 75. With more than 86 million Americans living with pre-diabetes and nearly 90% of them unaware of it. Studies show that early detection combined with proper intervention can lower visual complications caused by diabetes by up to 76%.
Ultra-widefield retinal imaging. A technology that captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina at one time. Your retina is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. This means that in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (stroke, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes) can also be seen in the retina. Early signs of these conditions can show on your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel pain. While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is healthy.
