I have been a practicing psychiatric Social Worker, for 26 years. Prior to that, I worked in the Mental Health field, initially with an Associate Degree in Mental Health Technology, then with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I am used to working in a multi-disciplinary setting, exchanging information with people who trained from various perspectives. Although I am now in a solo private practice, my background allows me to communicate professionally with your physician. I will help you to learn when and how to talk with your treating physician so he or she has the necessary information to make the best decisions about your care. You need to be an informed consumer to maximize your treatment benefits and often the uniformed client does not know how to advocate for themselves. I try to choose treatment modalities that work the best, with each of my patients. These include Insight Oriented Psychotherapy, Skills Development, Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
