Injuries can have lifelong consequences. While working as a radiologic technologist, at age 30, I herniated a lumbar disc. Besides becoming a back pain "statistic", I became dedicated to helping others like I had been helped--by a chiropractor. With college completed, I enrolled at Palmer-West College of Chiropractic after an enthusiastic recommendation by my chiropractor, who said, "you would make a great chiropractic physician!" My life has revolved around being the doctor he thought I could be. Along the way I met my terrific wife, Melanie, on my first day at Palmer. She and I graduated together and moved to Washington to practice. We married in1989, and have 2 wonderful high achieving children, and a practice in Arlington full of wonderful people. My injury did have significant consequences. It altered the direction of my life, and brought me to a career that has allowed me help people everyday. It put me on a trajectory to meet my soulmate, and raise two great people. Lemons can actually become lemonade!
