Lauren's vision for providing high quality health care began in 1999 when she started working with Traditional Chinese Medicine. After treating many patients In Bethesda MD using acupuncture, she moved her healthcare practice to Annapolis where she now enjoys living and participating in the Annapolis culture. In the year 2002, she opened her local wellness center, Chesapeake Acupuncture & Healing Arts, LLC which is located on Defense Hwy in Annapolis, MD. She provides Traditional Chinese Medicine services to residents of Anne Arundel, Kent and Queen Anne Counties. Near by cities include Annapolis, Bowie, Crofton, Edgewater, Arnold, Millersville, Crownsville, Severna Park, Stevensville, Queenstown, Centreville and many others. Lauren enjoys working with residents whom would like to enhance their health and wellness more naturally through the use of acupuncture and other holistic therapies. Relieving pain naturally while improving the body's function is the primary focus of her work. In addition, she does enjoy working with fertility, anxiety, allergies and just providing a general "stress relief" acupuncture treatment that we all need to live a better life. Lauren's Certifications Education in Chinese Medicine – MITCMAfter three years of Masters level education, Lauren graduated from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a certification in Acupuncture. She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She maintains her acupuncture license through the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture . Practitioners such as Lauren who keep their NCCAOM diplomate status current, demonstrate an exceptional commitment to professional development and are continually upgrading their clinical skills through additional training every year. Chinese Herbal Medicine – MUIHAfter obtaining her licensure in Acupuncture, Lauren continued her study of Oriental Medicine through the successful completion of a 2 year Chinese Herbal Medicine program hosted by the Maryland University of Integrative Health (previously known as the Tai Spohia Institute). In addition to studying herbal therapies with senior practitioners and master herbalists she has completed many continuing education classes in herbal studies as well as acupuncture. She incorporates herbal therapies while working with her clients/patients. image Shanghai University of TCM Certificate ProgramDuring the Summer of 2002, Lauren was very fortunate to be able to participate in a Graduate study program hosted by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine which is located in Shanghai, China. This acupuncture certificate program included classroom as well as hospital related studies. During this time, Lauren learned many things not typically taught in acupuncture schools located in the United States.
