    Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

    Kristina Nicholas Anderson's Care Philosophy

The expert on your care is...you.  I work with you to develop a treatment plan to improve your current situation and help you to live a life worth living.

With a skills based approach, I teach you skills to manage your own life in a more effective way than you have been previous to counseling.

All individuals have a right to fair and compassionate care regardless of financial means.  For this reason all services are provided on a sliding fee scale basis.  No insurances are accepted and individual therapy sessions begin as low as $20/session.

Our dialectical behavioral therapy skills groups are an excellent way to promote personal growth and skill development while leveraging your time and efforts in a supportive environment.

    Kristina Nicholas Anderson says...

I have been specializing in working with those with Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depression, Bi-Polar, PTSD, and Anxiety for many years now.

I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy having attended most conferences and seminars on the topic including two directly from Dr. Marsha Linehan herself.  I am a 'forever student' always seeking to further expand my own toolbox so I can be an even better therapist to my clients.

I use evidence based techniques, workbooks, and rely on the client as a partner in all treatment efforts.  Focusing on the 'here and now' helps the process move forward and keep it recovery oriented.

A strengths based, whole family perspective is used for assessing each individual.

Confidentiality, integrity, and the strength of the relationship established between each client and therapist are key to the movement within the treatment.  To this end, great care is taken in establishing proper protocols, boundaries, and alliances with each client.  These are outlined at the beginning of treatment to prepare each person for the work ahead of them in effort to achieve a life worth living.
